It all started with a need
The Quebec Public Libraries Association wanted to train its staff in plain language writing and raise awareness of this approach among library staff across the province.
We provided support in a variety of ways
- Provided tailored training on literacy and plain language writing for the QPLA and Bibliopresto teams
- Hosted an introductory webinar on plain language writing for QPLA members
We have worked together on different projects
- Developed a template to help create activity sheets for the Biblio-Jeux program, which uses play to help children develop their language skills
- Provided recommendations to support the graphic design team in using information design principles
- Rewrote various program materials in plain language:
• activity sheet sample
• informational brochures
• a promotional leaflet
